A Pre-Party & Jam Session takes place Friday night at 7 p.m. in the Sokol Clubroom located at the back of the hall. The admission is free. Come listen & dance to polka musicians from around the area and some from afar.<?

 

Raffle - Only $1 per ticket!  Drawings at 5:00 & 9:30.  Must be present to win. 

  

Sokol Gymnastics Program 3:00 – 3:30. 

  

The Moravians 7:00 – 8:00.  This is a new teen polka band from Ennis.

 

The Sokol Czech Museum & Library will be open 2:00 - 7:00.   Here you can see artifacts that range from ancient local photos of early Czech-American history, to authentic Czech costumes, and even the uniforms of local Czech-Americans who fought valiantly for their new homeland.  There are also well-preserved photos of trips taken back to the Czech Republic by Sokol members.  Many of the Czech books on display can no longer be found in the Czech Republic.  The museum welcomes any donations and memorials.

 

The Sokol kitchen will be open during the fest serving klobase sandwiches, BBQ sandwiches, klo-boats w/ sauerkraut, klobase on a stick, hamburgers, french fries, baked potatoes, nachos, popcorn, whole pickles, & kolaches 

 

Cash Bar – All major credit cards accepted.

 

Band CD’s - The performing bands will have a booth selling their CDs & other merchandise.

 

Sokol Booth - The Sokol gymnasts will have a booth selling T-shirts, memorabilia, & chances to win a handcrafted quilt.

 

Maggie’s Fabric Patch - Ernest & Maggie Grmela of West, TX will have a booth selling Czech costumes, T-shirts, caps, polka CD’s, & Czech novelties.

 

Jimmy Brosch & Theresa Parker will have a book signing for their new book “Jimmy Brosch Remembers Twenty Legendary Texas Czech Polka Bands”.

 

Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) will have a booth providing information about their high school exchange student program.
